Ballina is staging a major New Year's Day Festival, featuring some of the biggest Australian and International acts that Ballina has ever seen in one place. The Beats on the Beach 2006 Festival will be held at Kingsford Smith Park, Ballina, and will kick off at 10am on New Years Day.

The acts will spread of the day, with two stages running.

The Rockit Stage
Containing some of Australia's premium indy, rock, punk and metal bands, the RockIt Stage will feature the likes of Pet Murray, Bourbon Street, End of Fashion and Bodyjar.

The Fractured Beats Stage
Electronica, Hip-hop, funk, and more - Pendulum, Saul Williams and Katalyst will give you all the grooves you need to get in the New Years mood.

Planned Activities

The Festival will run from 10am, with a full days activities planned at Kingsford Smith park, and around Ballina.

Activities include a pro skating demonstration and comp at the Ballina Skate Park, with arts and crafts, market stalls in the surrounding park, and night time cinema in the amphitheatre.

Accommodation in Ballina for Beats on the Beach 2006

The Festival will operate a camping ground facility, with ticket holders having the option of purchasing camping passes for two nights - New Years Eve and New Years Night. Accommodation in Ballina will be scarce, so the festival operators suggest that those unfamiliar with the area book their camping passes now. More details are available on the website.

Other Ballina accommodation is available through the Ballina business directory, but make sure you do not delay, as the New years Eve accommodation is usually booked well in advance.
