Angels Beach proposal
East Ballina’s Angels Beach reserve could become an alcohol-free zone following a recent Ballina Shire Council decision.
The council has voted to consult with police about making the area alcohol-free following a recent party which erupted into violence against police and damage to local properties.
The council also decided that traffic movement restrictions, restrictions to access to the carpark or changes in speed zones were not warranted at this time.
An amendment put by Cr Alan Brown that the situation be monitored and reviewed following the completion of the Angels Beach cycleway/walkway was approved.
