Ballina to get extra youth crisis accommodation

Member for Ballina Don Page has announced that Ballina Shire will receive additional crisis accommodation to provide housing for homeless young people.
Mr Page said North Coast Community Housing had been allocated two two-bedroom units or townhouses under the 2005/06 Crisis Accommodation Program.

Melbourne Storm proved too strong in the second half, beating Parramatta Eels 38-12 in a National Rugby League trial match at Kingsford Smith Park, Ballina, on February 11.

Wollongbar speed limit reduced

Ballina to Lismore commuters beware: The 100km/h zone of the busy Bruxner Highway now ends at Alstonville. And the speed camera limit at Wollongbar has been reduced from 100km/h to 80km/h.
The former 100km/h zone from Wollongbar to almost the Alphadale Crossroads is now an 80km/h zone, thanks to the campaigning of Wollongbar grandmother Leila Packham.
