Congratulations to Lennox Head L J Hooker League cricketer James Everingham, who completed a cricket rarity — a hat-trick — in an Under-19 interdistrict match on February 5.

Former Ballina swimmer Adam Pine has entered the record books following his selection in the Australian team for the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in March.
Pine, 29, who now lives in Canberra, has been chosen for his fourth Commonwealth Games — the most ever by an Australian.

Parramatta Eels and Melbourne Storm will kick off the 2006 National Rugby League season by meeting in two trial games within a week, the first of which will be played at Kingsford Smith Park, Ballina, on February 11.
