Member for Ballina announces community funding for Byron
Member for Ballina Don Page has announced that Byron Bay is set to receive additional community housing for families and individuals in need.
These Byron Bay properties would be in addition to two two-bedroom units being purchased in the Ballina Shire under the similar 2005/06 Crisis Accommodation Program, Mr Page said.
Mr Page said North Coast Community Housing had been allocated funding to purchase three two-bedroom properties in Byron Bay under the 2005/06 Community Housing Assistance Program.
“The Community Housing Assistance Program provides long-term assistance to families and individuals on low incomes, often to people with complex needs that require support,” Mr Page said.
“The three additional residences in Byron Bay will be used for general housing for low-income young people.
“This housing is an important resource for people in our community who otherwise may be without a suitable roof over their heads.”
