Entry forms are now available for the annual All Girls ICON Surf Showdown at Lennox Head on the June long weekend, June 10-12.

The contest will be mobile, surfing at the best spot on the day in the Ballina Shire area. Divisions to be contested are:

• 14 and under
• 16 and under
• Open B grade
• Senior 28 and over
• Longboard (over 9 foot)
• NSW Sport and Recreation 21 and under
• Southern Cross Credit Union Open Pro

More than $25,000 worth of prizes is on offer. It will be the 14th annual All Girls event. Check out www.allgirlssurf.com for entry forms and more details.

Weekend surf check: Friday saw a swell to 2m at Ballina, bringing waves at Lennox Point. The swell is not the cleanest, so The Pass at Byron Bay could be the best spot. Reports this week were that The Pass was the pick of the local spots.

The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast winds from the north-east for Saturday, moving around to the west north-west on Sunday.

Bring on those westerlies!
