Ballina Seagulls topple league leaders
Ballina Seagulls have found their best form, beating Northern Rivers Regional Rugby League competition leaders Cudgen 26-22 today at Kingsford Smith Park, Ballina.
After losing their first three games of the season, the Seagulls have won three on the trot, beating Byron Bay, Mullumbimby and Cudgen.
Brenton Cochrane, the lightning-fast centre, scored three tries to pave the way for today’s win.
Ballina turned in another top defensive effort, following on from last Sunday’s win over Mullumbimby when they tackled the Giants out of the match.
Ballina travel to Grafton next Sunday to take on the Ghosts, then are at home to Lower Clarence.
