Ballina electorate athletes get grants
A group of Ballina Electorate athletes has been awarded grants under the 2006 NSW Country Athletes Scheme, Member for Ballina Don Page said today.
“I am pleased to announce 11 local athletes received total funding of $10,300 under the Country Athletes Scheme,” Mr Page, pictured, said.
The successful recipients are:
· Zali Fung, Athletics NSW
· Amanda Jennings, Little Athletics Association of NSW
· Angela Reakes, NSW Cricket Association
· Mason Fettell, NSW Water Polo
· Garrett Parkes, Surfing NSW
· Gemma Johnson, Swimming NSW Limited
· Joseph Lampe, Triathlon NSW
· Rachel Brown, Triathlon NSW
· Jessica Dengate, Women’s Golf NSW
· Emma Dengate, Women’s Golf NSW
· Sam Phillips, Yachting Association of NSW
“These funds provide the opportunity for local athletes to obtain first class training, coaching and competition,” Mr Page said.
“We have a wealth of sporting talent on the Northern Rivers and I wish all grant recipients the best of success in their chosen sport.”
