Digby Moran, Aunty Bertha Kapeen to help judge art award
Digby Moran, the most successful of our local Bundjalung artists, is one of the judges for this year’s National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) Bundjalung Art Award.
Other judges are Bundjalung Elder Aunty Bertha Kapeen, Mathew Poll from Sydney’s Boomalli Gallery, and Steven Alderton, director of the Lismore Regional Gallery.
Digby, who won the people’s choice award in 1999 in the prestigious Telstra Aboriginal Art Award, has exhibited in Germany and Austria in recent years. His works can sell for as much as $25,000.
The award exhibition, Our Spirit Our Country, will open at the Lismore Regional Gallery on June 3 at 10.30am. Members of the public are invited to attend.
