Ballina CSA office can help separated parents, says Causley

Federal Nationals Member for Page Ian Causley is encouraging separated parents to visit the Child Support Agency’s local office in Tamar Street, Ballina.

“Separation can be a really tough time for families. There are more than 10,000 separated parents in my electorate and I would recommend they make use of the local CSA office,” Mr Causley said.

“CSA’s Ballina office is a vital source of support for separated families in this area. Staff can help answer questions about child support calculations or payments, provide information, and offer referrals to other support services.

“Increased face-to-face services, especially for parents with complex child support issues, are a key component of the Government’s recent funding package to enhance CSA’s service delivery.”

Mr Causley said the first phase of changes to the Child Support Scheme Reforms would be introduced on July 1 and many parents may have questions about what it means for their children. “CSA is committed to providing timely, professional and accountable service to people living in regional and rural areas,” Mr Causley said.

“Parents can make an appointment to discuss any concerns they may have about child support, or to pick up one of CSA’s free booklets to help separated families.

“CSA offices are located in Centrelink sites which makes it easier for parents to manage all their benefits and payments in one convenient location.”

Local CSA staff are based at Centrelink Ballina and available between 8.30am-4.45pm weekdays. Parents can phone 131 272 to make an appointment or simply drop in.
