Tony Zann’s weekly fishing report

NSW Fishing monthly editor Tony Zann reports on the local fishing …

Bruce at Dave’s Bait Shop says a few more bream have been around the beaches and lower river and with the sea running the walls should fish well.

A few tailor, mostly good choppers, along with a few salmon. Quite a few jew spun off the walls over the past few days with some schoolies.

Flatties and the odd whiting in North Creek with more flatties around the Porpoise Wall. Blackfish on the bite again as long as the rain holds off.

Small school jew Wardell way.

Who knows about offshore, with the swell running? Bound to be jackets galore out there, anyway.

Not much I can say about Evans Head, especially with a 3-4m swell running onto the beaches and not much water on the bar, but a few blackfish around the walls.
