Roads grants announced
Two councils within the Ballina Electorate have been allocated $2 million for road works and repairs, Member for Ballina Don Page said.
Mr Page said Ballina and Byron Shire Councils had received funding under the 2006/07 Block Grants and Repair Programs.
The funding allocations are as follows:
- Ballina Shire Council - $1.23 million
- Byron Shire Council - $766,000
“This funding is additional to funding announced by the Commonwealth Government under the Roads to Recovery Program,” Mr Page said.
“This funding for our regional roads is much-needed and will greatly improve roads in this region.”
