Ballina Quays Marina to Go Ahead

The Northern Star reports that the proposed marina development for West Ballina has received the support of the council, in what will be a huge boost for the Ballina Riverfront.

The proposed development is for 14 residential allotments and marina berths estimated at $25 million.

A marina has been a long time coming in Ballina, one of the most beautiful riverside towns without an established marina facility.

No point rushing into these things… how long did we have that ugly river frontage behind the main street? It was an absolute embarrassment, a bit like not having a marina is!

I agree with Dave’s comment about it being an embarrassment with Ballina not having a marina. After all, this is a coastal town with a great river. Boating tourists will no doubt welcome the move, and the town can only benefit.
