Police mourn colleague’s sudden death

Police in the Richmond Area Local Command were today mourning the sudden death of their colleague, Sgt Colin McKenzie.
Sgt McKenzie, the head of the Ballina Highway Patrol, died on Thursday after taking part in rehearsals for today’s National Police Remembrance Day service in Canberra.

SCU to host animation festival

Ballina hosts junior league challenge

Northern Rivers Junior Rugby League is holding the Titans-NRRRL Under 13s and 14s challenge in Ballina on Saturday and Sunday. The challenge will involve teams from the Northern Rivers, Ipswich, South East Queensland, Gold Coast and Balmain areas.

Compensation call as highway upgrade preferred route announced

Ballina RSL Club general manager Bill Coulter has been named the Southern Cross University 2006 Alumnus of the Year.
