Big crowd watches junior league semis

The Group One Junior Rugby League semi-finals at Woodlawn last Saturday drew a huge crowd which witnessed some great football and very tight games.

In the under 10s Ballina Blue were narrowly defeated by Kyogle 14-12. Ballina now play Lennox Head, who defeated Marist Blue 20-16.

Kyogle have progressed through to the grand final.

In the under 11s Casino Maroon were defeated by Marist Blue 24-16. Casino now play Byron Bay, who defeated Ballina Blue 24-6. Marist Blue progressed through to the grand final.

In the under 12s Ballina Blue were defeated by Clarence Coast 10-6. Ballina now play Marist Blue, who had a convincing win over Lennox Head 38-0. Clarence Coast are through to the grand final.

In the under 13s Kyogle were defeated by Ballina 24-8 and now play Grafton, who had a very good win over Casino 56-4. Ballina are through to the grand final.

In the under 14s Ballina were soundly beaten by Marist 22-4. Ballina now play Kyogle, who had an impressive win over South Grafton 36-18. Marist are through to the grand final.

In the under 15s Marist were defeated by Kyogle 22-10. Marist now play South Grafton, as they defeated Ballina 26-22 in extra time. Kyogle are through to the grand final.

In the under 16s Casino were defeated by Byron Bay 26-18. Casino play South Grafton, who defeated Ballina 32-10. Byron Bay are through to the grand final.

All games in this Saturday’s finals will be played at Evans Head. The games commence at 1.20pm, with the under 10s through to the under 16s.

All the winners will progress to the grand finals in Ballina the following Saturday.
