Swimmers converge on Sydney for short course titles
Swimmers from across NSW will compete from Friday until Sunday in the annual State Age Short Course Championships at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre, Homebush.
The State Age Short Course Championships is one of the biggest events on the Swimming NSW calendar for underage competitors, and provides the up-and-coming athletes with the opportunity to compete in world class facilities, against the best swimmers in their age group.
Over 1260 athletes are set to converge on the Aquatic Centre over the weekend, with the first event being held at 5.30pm on Friday. Swimmers will compete in their chosen disciplines in the eight age divisions offered – 10 years through to the 17/18 year age groups.
One hundred and forty clubs will compete, with visiting teams from Victoria, Queensland and New Zealand highlighting the strength of the championships in 2006.
