Tony Zann’s weekly fishing report

NSW Fishing Monthly editor Tony Zann’s weekly fishing report …

Bruce at Dave’s Bait Shop says there is a fair bit of a fresh in the Richmond, pushing everything downstream around the walls and the last reach of the river.

Bream, whiting and blackfish have been caught around the walls and the Porpoise Wall.

A little sea is still running with some good jew coming from both walls but with better jew on the south with hard and soft lures working better than bait.

A few muddies in the lower Emigrant Creek and the lower river as well.

A few whiting and flathead along the breaches with the odd bream and plenty of salmon.
There have been pearlies and snapper on the wider grounds and a few squire on the closer reefs.

I’ve been in Brisbane since Wednesday so I can’t say much about Evans Head since then. The beaches have lost a whole lot of sand with the big seas and high tides but there have been a few gutters and depressions up there worth exploring when the sea settles a little.

The odd jewie was caught from the walls during the dirty weather and there were a few nice blackfish from mainly the North Wall.

Offshore? Where’s that?
