Ballina hosts junior league challenge
Northern Rivers Junior Rugby League is holding the Titans-NRRRL Under 13s and 14s challenge in Ballina on Saturday and Sunday. The challenge will involve teams from the Northern Rivers, Ipswich, South East Queensland, Gold Coast and Balmain areas.
Games will commence at 9.30am both days and finish at 5.30 on Saturday and 11am on the Sunday.
The Group One Under 10s, 11s and 12s will also play Group 18 on Saturday commencing at 11.30am.
The Northern Rivers teams will feature the best players from the Group One and Group 18 in these age divisions.
Special guests for the weekend will be Luke Douglas (Cronulla front-rower) and Danny Wicks (St-George second-rower), who will be offering advice and encouragement to all the players. Douglas and Wicks are former Group One JRL players.
The new NRL Titans and Northern Rivers Regional Rugby League are the major sponsors for this weekend of rugby league.
“There will be an enormous amout of talented rugby league players running around in Ballina this weekend,” Group One Juniors spokesman Brian Rix said.
