Call goes out for Seniors Week Achievement Awards
Nominations for the 2007 NSW Seniors Week Achievements Awards are now open, Member for Ballina Don Page said today.
Mr Page said the awards recognised NSW seniors for their contribution to the development of the community, their leadership and initiative.
A group or individual can be nominated in the following categories:
- Business Mentoring
- Intergenerational Understanding
- Environment/Science
- Health and Well-being
- Education/Life-long learning
- Community Service/Volunteering
“Seniors make significant contributions to our communities and deserve to be acknowledged,” Mr Page said.
“The State winners will be presented with their awards at a ceremony to be held during Seniors Week at Sydney’s Town Hall on Monday, March 12, 2007.
“Importantly, all nominations will receive a certificate.
“Nominations close at 5pm on Friday, October 6, 2006. Nomination forms are available from my office at 1/7 Moon Street, Ballina, or by phoning 6686 7522.”
