Suffolk Park home invasion alleged

A teenage boy is expected to appear in court next month following an alleged home invasion which left two males injured at Suffolk Park on Tuesday.

Police said that about 6.30pm on Tuesday, a group of males allegedly attended a residence in Suffolk Park where they entered the house and assaulted two males inside.

The group ransacked the house before fleeing the scene.

The two males were taken to Byron Bay Hospital suffering bruising and swelling and have since been released.

Police from the Byron Bay Local Area Command attended the residence and a crime scene was established.

About 4.50pm yesterday, a 17-year-old Goonellabah youth attended Lismore Police Station where he was arrested and interviewed.

The youth was charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence, two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assault. He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear in Lismore Children’s Court on 13 November, 2006.
