Weekend surf report
Our weekly surf reports are becoming repetitive — about the only things that change are the strength of the northerlies and the size of an ever-diminishing swell.
Today the wind is howling from the north and the swell is virtually non-existent — the same pattern we’ve been reporting on for what seems months now.
So much for spring! We’re well and truly into the summer pattern.
The weather bureau predicts a southerly change late on Saturday, but if it’s anything like recent changes, the wind will be back from the north within a day or two.
Mid-week I took a drive to South Ballina. Conditions were suitable for South Wall, but unfortunately the sandbank is not good.
Your best bet for a weekend surf is to hope that the southerly does come through and cleans up the swell enough for some beach breaks on Sunday.
