The Northern Rivers community is in a state of shock today as the tragic loss of four teenagers in a motor vehicle accident at Broken Head, near Byron Bay, early on Sunday sinks in.

The now-familiar spring pattern of howling northerlies and no swell continues.
The weekend forecast is for northerlies on Saturday followed, thankfully, by a late southerly change.
Expect to find flat conditions on Saturday but hopefully the change will allow for improved conditions on Sunday.

Ballina’s economy benefitted to the tune of an estimated $1 million this week as the town hosted the biannual Association of Independent Retirees conference.
