Weekend surf report
At last — there’s swell!
Today a solid easterly swell to 2m was hitting Ballina’s beaches, and for once it looks like hanging around for the weekend.
That’s the good news.
The bad news is that northerly winds are forecast for Saturday and Sunday.
Whether you can find a sheltered spot to take advantage of the swell is the big question.
South Ballina is the obvious choice, but the last time I surfed there (two weeks ago), the sandbank alongside the wall was not conducive to good waves.
An early-morning start mind result in some half-decent beach breaks.
