Across the State police officers will wear a white ribbon on November 25 in a show of solidarity to White Ribbon Day and the 16 Days of Activism. The wearing of the ribbons signifies the commitment NSW Police have to eliminating family and domestic violence.

Eight graduating student teachers returned home to Canada last weekend after spending the past year in a teacher training program at Southern Cross University’s Tweed Gold Coast campus.
The student teachers, who specialised in history, geography, business studies and English, each completed a Graduate Diploma of Education during the year.

Great news from NSW Roads Minister Eric Roozendaal that he is pushing to fast-track the upgrade of the Pacific Highway.
Mr Roozendaal is moving to have the upgrade declared Critical Infrastructure.
The Minister says Critical Infrastructure allows timely and efficient delivery of critical infrastructure projects when required, and provides certainty in the delivery of key infrastructure projects.

Police are investigating a single vehicle fatal crash near Ballina in the State’s north yesterday.
About 1.30pm police were called to an area on the Pacific Highway at Knockrow after reports of car crash.
Police believe a green Mitsubishi Pajero station wagon was travelling south along the highway before driving down an embankment.

Today a solid easterly swell to 2m was hitting Ballina’s beaches, and for once it looks like hanging around for the weekend.

Police have charged a youth with eight driving offences relating to the deaths of four teenagers north of Ballina last month.
The crash occurred shortly after midnight on 22 October when a Holden Commodore sedan travelling south near Broken Head left the road and struck several trees before coming to rest on an embankment.
