Ballina Airport parking fee: Residents get two hours for free

Ballina Shire residents can park free for two hours at Ballina/Byron Gateway Airport provided they obtain the appropriate sticker.

Ballina Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s business and promotions manager, Nadia Elliott-Burgess, says that residents can obtain a sticker by presenting proof of residency via their registration papers at the council chambers front desk.

“Paid parking began at the Ballina/Byron Gateway Airport on January 2. The paid parking is a pre-pay and display system. Ten machines are located throughout the car parks and are applied to all parking areas including the grass,” Ms Elliott-Burgess said.

“The machines are equipped to take coins and credit cards. A change machine is also provided as no change is given from payment machines. All tickets purchased must be displayed on the dash of vehicles.

“The free resident parking tickets are valid for the first two hours. If residents intend to park longer than two hours, they will need to purchase the appropriate ticket from the machine and display it on their dash.”

Prices for the paid parking tickets are:

2 hours = $2
All day (day of issue only, valid until midnight) = $4 (no resident exemption)
Overnight = $8 per 24 hour period or part thereof (no resident exemption)
