Ballina, Lennox Head surf report
There were some great conditions through the week, highlighted by a good day at Lennox Point mid-week, but the dreaded northerlies have kicked in again.
Today there’s a nice easterly swell to a metre and the early starters had clean waves at North Wall before the wind got up.
The forecast for Saturday is northerly winds with a southerly change moving in on Sunday.
Meanwhile, NSW Sport and Recreation has teamed up with Surfing NSW to offer an accredited Level 1 Surf-Riding Coaching Course in Lennox Head in March.
The Surf Coaching Course will be held at Lake Ainsworth Sport and Recreation Centre on the weekend of 10-11 March.
NSW Sport and Recreation spokesman James Roberts said Lennox Head has a world renowned reputation for its right point break and has been selected as one of only two regional venues for next year’s National Coaching Accreditation Scheme (NCAS) throughout NSW.
“This is a great opportunity for community members interested in developing their surfing skills further or for those interested in pursuing a career within the surfing industry,” said Mr Roberts.
“NCAS approved courses are recognised internationally as the standard for surf coaching.
“Topics such as basic psychology, surfing injuries and prevention, physical condition, role of the coach, basic instructional methods and much more will be presented through the program.”
Pre enrolment is essential and interested participants are encouraged to enrol early as places are limited.
For further information or to make a booking, phone NSW Sport and Recreation on (02) 6618 0400 or visit the department’s website.
