Ballina Airport parking fee: Residents get two hours for free

Ballina Shire residents can park free for two hours at Ballina/Byron Gateway Airport provided they obtain the appropriate sticker.
Ballina Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s business and promotions manager, Nadia Elliott-Burgess, says that residents can obtain a sticker by presenting proof of residency via their registration papers at the council chambers front desk.

Byron Bay police act against anti-social behaviour

Four people have been charged following a police operation at Byron Bay aimed at cracking down on anti-social behaviour.
Police from Tweed/Bryon Local Area Command say they have conducted extensive investigations as part of Operation Cull.
The operation has been running since early December.

Surfing conditions in the Ballina-Lennox Head area are poor, with a small north-east swell greeting surfers this morning.
Conditions will remain much the same over the weekend. The forecast is for east to northerly winds until a late south-east change on Monday.

Happy Feet screening to raise funds for SCU Whale Research Centre

A special screening of the hit comedy adventure ‘Happy Feet’ will be held in Byron Bay on Thursday, January 18, to raise funds for Southern Cross University’s Whale Research Centre.

Ballina Shire DAs can be viewed on-line

Ballina Shire Council residents are now able to view development applications (DAs) on-line.
The council says all all DAs lodged from July 1 last year can be viewed browsing to http://www.ballina.nsw.gov.au and following the ‘DA’s On-line’ link.
