Tanyn a standout Warrior
Lennox Head-Alstonville Surf Lifesaving Club’s Tanyn Lyndon was a standout competitor as Queensland’s depth spearheaded the home State’s victory at the second Warriors on Water clash at Kurrawa Beach on the Gold Coast on Sunday.
After the Blues claimed the first NSW v Queensland clash at Port Macquarie in 2005, and then won back the Interstate Championships trophy in South Australia last month, the Maroons were keen to get some silverware in the cabinet and did it in style, outscoring NSW 1551 to 555.
While NSW had some of the best performances of the day, the overall depth of the host State proved a huge source of points and widened the victory margin.
Tanyn, an Under-15 competitor, was arguably the most outstanding athlete at the Warriors on Water, being the only person to win the Ironman-Surf Race-Board treble.
