Police appeal for assistance after man found injured

Police are appealing for public assistance after a man was located seriously injured in Ballina over the weekend.

About 5am ambulance personnel attended a home in River Street, Ballina, following a Triple-0 call indicating that there was an unconscious man at the address.

They located a 26-year-old Queensland man before taking him to Ballina Hospital suffering a fractured skull and a fractured pelvis.

He was later transferred to Lismore Base Hospital and then airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane where he was placed in an induced coma. He remains in a critical condition.

Ballina Police were made aware of the incident on Sunday night.

Inquiries into the incident are continuing.
