Concept Master Plans for Alstonville & Wardell
Council recently engaged the services of an experienced consultancy team, Environmental Landscapes, to develop Concept Master Plan Proposals for streetscape improvements of both the Alstonville Village Centre and Wardell Village.
Initial research included a review of background information and analysis of traffic, parking, pedestrian amenity and identification of the constraints and opportunities for enhancements at both locations.
A number of community meetings have already taken place to get initial input into the project; meetings at the Wardell Memorial Hall for the Wardell Master Plan; and meetings with Alstonville retailers and Council’s C Ward Committee have also taken place in preparation of the Alstonville Master Plan.
The overall Concept Master Plans represent both long term and short term objectives for improvements to the village centres in Alstonville and Wardell. The proposed staged developments will be subject to Council funding, Government Grant applications and the support of the local community.
Council looks forward to your participation by indicating whether you agree or disagree with the proposals for your villages. Brochures inclusive of the questionnaire for each plan are available at the following locations:

The Concert Master Plans are on public exhibition from Saturday, 31 March and comments are invited until close of business on Friday 20 April 2007.
