Weekend surf report

While the pros chase glory in the time-honoured Bells Easter Classic, surfing locally shows promise of some decent waves over the long weekend.

A north-east swell and light southerly wind this morning made for beach breaks from Evans Head right through to Lennox.

I surfed Flat Rock this morning and although there were a few good waves to be had down the beach, there still is no sand near the rock.

There have been plenty of beach breaks around Ballina, with Main Beach and North Wall popular all week.

The forecast is for southerly winds right through until Monday.
