Weekend surf report

A south-east swell to 2m today and southerly winds forecast for the weekend should provide for good surfing over the weekend.

The swell was too big for Ballina beach breaks this morning, so check the area from Flat Rock to Byron, or head south to Evans Head.

It’s holiday time, so expect your favourite break to be a bit more crowded than usual.

The winds are forecast to turn north to north-east on Monday, and a low pressure system in the Bight could lead to an offshore change after that.

Here’s hoping that the winter pattern of offshores and crisp, fine days kicks in soon. After the bummer summer of surf we’ve had, it can’t come soon enough.
