A great week to be in the water

It’s been a great week to be surfing from Ballina through to Lennox Head.

The swell hasn’t been all that big, but the weather has been perfect, with warm water and morning offshore winds. There’s plenty of good sandbanks along the coast.

North Wall at Ballina was the place to be on Monday, with four foot clean waves attracting plenty of surfers.

There have been clean beach-breaks right through to Lennox Head as the swell hovered around a metre throughout the week.

Unfortunately, the weekend forecast isn’t so bright. Onshore winds are predicted through until Monday, so the usual adage applies: An early start before the wind blows.

Meanwhile, the push to have Lennox Point declared a Surfing Reserve (see last week’s report) will be discussed for the first time at a meeting in Lennox on Tuesday night. Keep logging on to Ballina.Info and we’ll bring you all the news on this exciting campaign.
