Seagulls at home to Kyogle

Ballina take on Kyogle in Retravision Northern League on Sunday, and the Seagulls will be quietly confident of another victory.

Chris Binge’s team came from behind to beat Casino Cougars 40-22 at Casino last Sunday. The Cougars are always tough at home, so it was a good win.

Following last week’s debacle over the Mullum-Byron clash (the league ruled Byron forfeited the game), Ballina Seagulls share top spot on the ladder with Murwillumbah.

Meanwhile, star Seagulls forwards Dylan Montgomery and Andrew Battese are polling well in the Player of the Year. Dylan is on six points, two behind leader Luke Scott (Marist Brothers). Andrew has five points, and Seagulls half Willie Hammond is on four.

Points awarded for Ballina in the first five rounds:

Ballina v Marist Brothers: 3 Dylan Montgomery Ballina 2 Andrew Battese Ballina 1 Scott Gibson Marist.
