Welcome to winter!
It’s offshore, the swell is building — and it’s cold.
After a balmy autumn the winter weather pattern has finally hit, and today there’s waves from North Wall at Ballina right through to Lennox Head.
The timing is just right for the ICON All Girls Showdown at Lennox Head which starts tomorrow. Let’s hope the swell doesn’t get too big, so that some of the younger competitors can compete with confidence.
Offshore winds are forecast for throughout the weekend and the swell is predicted to increase, so pick a spot that suits your ability.
Our picture this week was taken at Flat Rock last Sunday. That’s one of the region’s top mal riders, Eric Walker, and it looks as if he’s going for a walk on water.
