Weekend fishing report

NSW Fishing Monthly editor Tony Zann’s weekly fishing report …

Bruce at Dave’s Bait Shop says it looks like the weather is going to come away again, just in time for the weekend.

A few bream through the river, mainly at night along the Porpoise Wall and in the Bream Hole, with mullet gut and chicken gut baits doing the best job.

Blackfish have improved along the Porpoise Wall and around Prospect Bridge. Still a few flathead up-river with a few small school jew.

With the seas up there have been some good jew to 18kg spun up around the walls and washes. Some tailor and bream along the beaches but not in big numbers. No outside reports and the sea is a bit lumpy.

I’ve been in Brisbane all week so I can’t really say what’s been happening at Evans Head.
