Antoinette Pholi’s picture wins award
Ballina’s Antoinette Pholi has won the 2006 People’s Choice Award in the Thanks Dad Photo Competition with this delightful shot.
“At Thanks Dad we have come to call this photo ‘Angel Baby’ even though it hadn’t been titled by the photographer. It is a wonderful photo and depicts how many mothers feel about their children — as if they must indeed have dropped straight from the heavens at times!” said competition co-ordinator Kay Knights.
“This photo has won the Thanks Dad People’s Choice Photo Competition for this past year. People are invited to vote for their favourite photo at all our exhibitions at shopping centres, schools and community centres.”
Many Ballina people would know Antoinette from her days as clerk of the course at the Ballina Jockey Club. She is a former jockey and is daughter of local trainer Bill pholi.
Meanwhile, if you would like the exhibition to come to your venue, please call Kay Knights on 6622 3143.
Thanks Dad Photos are now calling for entries to be sent in to Community Connections, PO Box 1005 Lismore 2480 or to be emailed to tdpcoord@communityconnections.org.au
Interested people can get the entry form off the website at www.thanksdadphotos.org and can also view some of the pictures entered in the 2006 competition.
“There are lots of categories this year and we encourage school-aged children to enter this year as there are categories for primary and high school children with cash prizes in all categories,” Kay said.
“Thanks Dad Photos look forward to seeing your entries – not just of dads but also uncles, granddads, step dads, sports coachs or other significant men in the children’s lives.”
