Hot line-up for Gromfest
The 12th annual Rusty Gromfest, to be held at Lennox Head from July 6-9, has attracted its best field ever, according to Surfing Australia.
“Rusty Gromfest has again attracted an amazing field of super-talented young surfers from all over Australia and New Zealand, along with a sprinkling of exceptional overseas talent,” Surfing Australia said.
“A scan of this years field and the initial reaction is that this will be the best ever line-up with many of the surfers already boasting State, national and international titles.”
Garrett Parkes (Byron Bay/NSW), Laura Enever (Narrabeen/Sydney), Todd Rosewall (Jan
Juc/Vic), Ryan Hawker (NZ) , Murray Antonieff (Qld/Stradbroke Island) , Creed McTaggart (WA), Tamaroa McComb (Tahiti) and Tyler Wright (Culburra/NSW) are just a very small sample of the young talents entered for this year’s event.
Around 330 surfers in total have entered and positions into this prestigious event have long closed, with a massive reserve list already on standby.
Industry talent scouts, surf managers, surf media and mainstream media will all be at the Rusty Gromfest to check out the emerging stars of surfing.
As far as Grommet events go, this is the original and it’s the big one.
Current ASP World Championship Ratings leaders Mick Fanning and Stephanie Gilmore are past winners of the Rusty Gromfest and they’re just an example of the great surfers who have won this event.
It’s an exciting week and during winter there are few better places to be other than Lennox Head.
