Weekend surf report
All surfers like an offshore wind, but there are offshores, and there are … well, howling west/north-westers like we’ve had for the past couple of days.
After a chilly few days without sunshine, it was nice to see the weather clear on Wednesday, and Lennox Point really turned it on, with plenty of sand providing some of the best tube rides for quite some time.
But the next day the wind blew, and blew, and blew, and that pattern has continued.
Today it’s still blowing hard and the swell has flattened out to about 3 feet.
As for the weekend, it could be as flat as a pancake.
Or it could start picking up again, due the strong low pressure systems down south.
The forecast is for offshore winds to continue through the weekend. The only problem is, how strong will it be?
PICTURE: A rare shot indeed these days … a perfect tube and no one riding it. The picture was taken on Wednesday.
