Southern Cross Arts Festival preparations are under way
Preparations are under way for one of Ballina’s major arts events, the Southern Cross Arts Festival.
Now in its 34th year, the festival categories include painting (oil and acrylic, water colour), works on paper, sculpture/craft item, photography and a section for young artists.
And for those on the lookout for an early Christmas gift, there will be a craft shop where people can submit items for sale on a commission basis.
Entry forms must be submitted by October 22 and are available from www.sthcross-c.schools.nsw.edu.au
Works must be delivered by October 29.
Conditions of entry
Reserve the right to hang.
Limit of 3 pieces per artist (except for the craft shop section)
No pieces to exceed 2 square meters or 3 meters cubed.
Artist statement to accompany entry form for works in sections 1 - 5 (maximum 50 words)
All artworks must be original and the property of the artist.
Entry fee $20 per work which will include entry to all Festival events
For the craft shop the entry fee is $10 regardless of the number of items entered.
All works must be for sale.
A 25% commission applies to all sales and should be considered in the price of the work.
Artists are responsible for delivery and pick-up of artworks by due dates.
The committee accepts no responsibility for loss or damage.
