Ballina Seagulls have three teams in semis
Ballina Seagulls will field teams in all three grades of the Retravision Northern League qualifying semi-finals at Cabarita next Sunday.
In A-grade, Ballina will play Tweed Coast Raiders.
In reserves, the Seagulls will play Lower Clarence.
The Under-18s will play Mullumbimby, kicking off at 11.30am.
Contesting the qualifying semi-finals means that if they lose, the teams still get a second chance at qualifying for further semi-finals.
That’s not the case for the elimination semi-finals at Oakes Oval, Lismore, on Saturday, where Marist Brothers and Byron Bay will clash in first grade, Mullumbimby will meet Byron in reserves, and Tweed Coast play Murwillumbah. The losers of those games are out for the season.
Mullumbimby, which claimed the minor premiership with an 8-2 win over Byron Bay in an epic struggle at Byron today, will have the week off before hosting the major semi-finals on Sunday week.
Mullum also won the club championship by a point from Ballina.
