There’s barely a ripple on the ocean after a couple of days of northerlies, and the pattern looks like continuing at least until Sunday, when south-west to southerlies are forecast.
Hopefully, the intense pressure systems in southern Australia might whip up a bit of swell.

Ballina Seagulls warmed up for their crucial clash next Saturday against Mullumbimby with an impressive 58-14 trouncing of Lower Clarence in Retravision Northern League at Kingsford Smith Park, Ballina, yesterday.
The Seagulls had the match wrapped up at half-time, going into the break leading 34-10.

World Youth Day symbols coming to Ballina

The symbols of World Youth Day – the world’s largest youth event — will be in Ballina on Monday, August 6.
The symbols are the Cross, a 3.8m by 1.75m wooden cross weighing 31kg, and the Icon of Our Lady, a copy of the painting of Salus Populi Romani (Protectress of the Roman People).
