2007 marks the 100th birthday of surf lifesaving in Australia, and since 1907 Australia’s surf lifesavers have saved more than 500,000 lives, and most of those lifesavers will have started out as a Nipper at their local surf club.
Nippers is about having fun, being physically fit, and learning teamwork and surf skills.
The surf education program gives kids skills that will last them their lifetime, teaching children everything they need to know to ensure that they can keep themselves and their friends safe.
In a community where so many kids surf, knowing how to read the sea, and get out of danger are vital.
