Wear your boardies to work — for a good cause

boardies.jpgBallina Shire businesses are being asked to allow their staff to wear boardshorts to work for a day.

“2007 has been named the Year of the Surf Lifesaver and marks the centenary of the surf life saving movement, and on Friday October 19, Surf Life Saving will be celebrating our 100th Birthday, and we are asking the community to have a bit of fun while raising money to save lives on our beaches, simply by participating in our annual Boardies Day,” Surf Life Saving NSW support officer Belinda Camp said.

“We would like to get all the local businesses involved by asking staff to make a gold coin donation to wear your boardies or favourite beachwear to work to help us raise desperately needed funds for our local surf life saving clubs.

“Funds raised will help provide our lifesavers with the equipment and training to do what we do best — save lives!

“We are asking businesses interested in participating to nominate their local Surf Life Saving Club to receive the funds your business raises.”
