Alstonville gets ready to Show off
Horses will be missing because of the Equine Influenza outbreak, but there’s still plenty to see and do at this year’s Alstonville Show.
The show runs on Friday and Saturday.
As well as the annual Showgirl judging and usual exhibitions, there will be entertainment such as Celtic dancers, bands and a magician.
The lack of horses will be made up for in some small way with a novelty gig race at 7.30pm on Saturday, with humans instead of trotters pulling the gig.
The show kicks off at 7am on Friday with dog trials. Pavilion judging will begin at 9am. The morning’s entertainment will be by BJ the Magician.
There is a packed program on Saturday, with dog, cattle and poultry judging from 9am.
BJ the Magician, Celtic dancers and the Alstonville and Lismore concert bands will provide the entertainment.
The grand parade will be at 2pm.
The afternoon’s entertainment will include motorcycle stunt riders.
The ute judging will be at 3pm.
Men’s and women’s tug-o-wars will be held at 6pm, followed by the gig race and the fireworks finale from 8pm.
