Lismore / Dunoon Tornado Video Footage
For anybody who missed the recent news footage of the mini - tornado that hit Lismore / Dunoon last week (October 26, 2007) I have compiled some of the best of it that has been posted on YouTube.
The first video shows some of the debris hitting a sub power station, causing plenty of chaos and widespread blackouts. The next two videos have been divided into two parts and clearly show the mini tornado forming.

HI
I live near Lismore and know many who saw this twister and all of these that I’ve spoken to say that the news is wrong this was not a “mini” twister it was a big one from the video and photos I’ve seen I believe them. Much of the damage it left behind was huge it blew apart a church for crying out loud. luckily no-one was hurt.
when i asked a friend who saw it she said “it was huge” and when asked if she was scared she said “shit yea!” so yes it was a big one and real rare too! first tornado in my life time here in aus (not counting tropical cyclones ‘n’ stuff).

That’s my footage of the tornado that hit Dunoon. It was definitely a huge tornado as I live in the village next door when I filmed it and you can see how large it was to be seen at that distance. It was absolutely scarey when it started to come straight towards me. It then split into two smaller twisters before going in differentdirections and soon afterwards disipated. The photos of mine around the media are taken by me also on the same videocamera as it also has a memory stick.

Well done with the footage Annamaria, you might get a gig as a professional storm chaser!
I have spoken with the few people that live up around Dunoon and from what they are saying the damage has been devastating.

Certainly was not ‘mini’. Wish the media would stop using that term as it’s misleading.

I would encourage whoever posted the Substation footage to link to the one I have placed online with a waternark

I had the other one removed given it was illiegally placed on You Tube and also did not bother to credit regardless of my attempts.

Annamaria,
Can you please contact me or someone get her to get into contact with me as I require further information regarding the tornado in terms of time frame.
Our website is at:
http://www.australiasevereweather.com
This tornado was a long lived tornado in Australian terms being on the ground for 20 to 25 minutes!
I would like to view the original uncut video version.
