Daily beach report
North Coast Lifeguard Co-ordinator Stephen Leahy’s daily beach report:
Another great day on Far North Coast beaches. Small waves but there were still a number of rips around. The afternoon sea breeze cooled things down later in the day. Here’s what happened on lifeguard patrolled beaches in Ballina Shire today:
Lennox Head: Surfers enjoyed the conditions at Lennox today with waves up to half a metre. It got a little choppy this afternoon but conditions were very pleasant for the swimmers that visited Lennox throughout the day, nevertheless eight swimmers were warned about swimming in dangerous locations.
Shelly Beach, Ballina: Small waves but the rips continue to cause havoc. Lifeguard Ruben was required to relocate the flags mid afternoon due to a strong rip developing on the southern end of the beach. Twenty-eight preventative actions were carried out during the day.
Tomorrow’s Forecast: Fine. Mostly sunny. Light to moderate east to north-east winds.
