Big mob of bikers to hit Ballina

Don’t be alarmed if you see a big mob of bikers thundering through Ballina on Saturday.

It won’t be an outlaw motorcycle gang coming to terrorise the place — it’ll be the Ulysses Motorcycle Club conducting their annual North Coast Children’s Home Charity Toy Run.

This year the club members are travelling from Ballina to Lismore.

They’ll meet from 8am at the Ballina Seagulls Rugby League Club carpark, with the Ballina Lions Club providing breakfast for a moderate fee.

Groups of 20 riders will depart from 10am, heading down Bentinck Street to Kerr Street, then up the Pacific Highway and on through Alstonville and Wollongbar.

“We wish to emphasise that the run is open to all registered motorcyles, regardless of type, size, colour, make, age or style, be they scooters, trail bikes, mopeds, Ducatis, Hondas or Harley Davidsons,” Northern Rivers branch club president Ron Gaudron said.

“The run is also open to all riders, regardless of age or licence type, including L-platers and P-Platers.

“This is the ideal opportunity for all riders to gather in aid of a great cause.”

A gold coin donation is required to take part in the ride.

You can contact Ron on 6621 8918 (home) or 6622 5669 (work).
