Have your say on NSW health services
Member for Ballina Don Page today urged the local community to have their say by voicing their concerns about the NSW health system to the Special Commission of Inquiry.
“I encourage anyone who has concerns about the treatment that they or their loved ones have received to make a submission to the Special Commission of Inquiry,” he said.
“The current State Labor Government is renowned for its Sydney-centric attitude and the inquiry provides an opportunity for people in regional areas to have their say about the health services they are or are not receiving.
“The Auditor-General has highlighted emergency waiting times, bed occupancy levels, and the use of out-of-date equipment as areas that are not reaching even the standards set by the Government themselves.
“There has been a lot of attention on particular hospitals. But I believe the problems are much more widely spread and it is important for members of the public to bring their experiences to the attention of the Special Commissioner.
“Submissions from the public will help bring attention to the areas that need improvement within the health system.
“I am hopeful that the inquiry will result in desperately needed improvements to NSW health services. The only way for that to occur is for the public to have adequate input.”
