Good results for Ballina RSL Club swimmers
The Australian Imperial Forces (AIF) Swimming Championships were held recently at Goondiwindi, with a group of 20 people (pictured) from the Ballina RSL Swimming Club attending the swim meet and the evening function.
There were 14 swimmers who competed from Ballina amongst the 400 or more competitors at the meet. Competition was excellent and all the swimmers achieved their individual goals.
The Ballina swimmers had three good results:
1st in the 70 /75 years Men’s 30m Championship Gary Beresford
3rd in the 65-69 years 50m Women’s Championship June Beresford
2nd in the 10 X 50m Memorial Relay - team members: Greg Davidson (President) Mick Lyons (Club Captain), Clarissa Huegill, Col Hodgkinson, Brett Brown, Janet Jenner, John Jenner, Peter Higgins, Laurie Trim, Gene Trim
